Toronto's Magnificent Mandir (Hindu temple)

Workers were adding finishing touches to this architectural wonder when
I took these photos in September 2007.

"Mandir" means: "where the mind becomes still and the soul floats freely"
in Sanskrit.

The temple is open to the public daily, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Visitors are required to remove their shoes at the entrance and to observe
a respectful silence within.
Carved entirely by hand, and constructed without steel or nails, temples
this elaborate are rarely seen outside India.
